Watching, sipping and reading.....

Happy Sunday! It's a nice day to sit outside and visit with folks around the world - the kind of travel we do these days.

Watching / Last night we watched an older movie called National Treasure.  I didn't know there was an alternate ending until I looked over the DVD case.  After the movie Doug found the menu and we watched the first ending shot.  It's only a 2 minute clip and it was fun seeing the way they originally planned it.

We bought The Grand Budapest Hotel as it was another on the list of visually stunning movies.  Great to watch on a large screen.  Haven't seen it yet but maybe next week.

Sipping/ My favorite of the wines I've tried lately remains the Joel Gott Chardonnay but I decided to try something new this week.  This is a Barton and Guestier white Bordeaux and it just didn't rock my world.  Too much of a strong grapefruit taste so, I ended up abandonng the bottle.

Doug tried two new (to him) bourbons and likes them both. Old Forester Original and Russell's Reserve 10 year old.  This is his birthday week and you just have to try new things, right? :-)

In the Kitchen / I am a big fan of hummus so I thought, why not make a sandwich with it.  This is a spinach artichoke and sun dried tomato blend.  Pretty display :-)

Spread this on toast with sliced tomatoes.

A fast and healthy lunch alternative.

Reading / I have had some great luck with Netgalley giving me advanced reader copies of books and have enjoyed most of them.  Finished up the nonfiction challenge hosted at Shellyrae's Book'd Out.
