Carrot, Apple and Ginger Puree

This is a wonderful delicious and aromatic puree. The sweetness of the carrots and apples is perfectly complemented by the ginger. I have used ginger powder here so that there are no big or small chunks of ginger left in the puree. You can also use fresh ginger, grate it then puree it with the carrot and apple. Ginger not only adds a fresh flavor in the puree but is also great for indigestion and tummy ache.

Ingredients:
  • Apple – 1, big, cored, peeled and cut into halves
  • Water – ½ cup
  • Carrots – 1, big, peeled, washed and cut into big cubes
  • Ginger Powder – 1-2 pinches

Directions:
  • Place the apple and carrot (with the water) into the pressure cooker. You can also use a heavy saucepan.
  • Cover and cook over medium heat for 3-4 whistles or until tender (15-20 minutes)
  • Let the apples and carrots cool down completely then use only half of the water (in which they were cooked) to make the puree, add the ginger powder then blend again. Puree using a hand blender/ food processor or Nutri bullet.
  • Blend until smooth, add a tablespoon of water till it is smooth enough for your baby.
  • Serve and let them enjoy the goodness! This puree can be kept in the fridge for 1-2 days.
